We are The Logan Theater and Community Arts Center. We purchased the historical Logan Theater and Chakeres Theater in 2018 and are crazy busy renovating this theater and building for the community and downtown Logan! Right now we are focused on the 2nd and 3rd floors, also known as Phase 1.
This renovation will provide a place for the Logan-Hocking School District's after school programs. Students will be able to gather in a "coffee shop" type setting for individual or group study, take part in creative making, ceramics, and other art media, display their work in the art gallery, and enjoy a reading room where they can receive reading assistance, or quietly watch movies or play games. It will be a resource for our students that they have not had access to previously in their learning environment.
The 3rd floor will house the Hocking County Children's Chorus and give them a permanent home after many years of searching for a permanent home for the ever-growing chorus. This space will provide the chorus with storage, new dressing rooms, restrooms, a beautiful lobby and industrial/historical style auditorium and historical stage with exposed brick for rehearsals and performances, as well as a secret passage to the stage. This space can also be used by the public for weddings, plays, conferences, etc.
Funds raised in this campaign will help us finish this space for occupancy in early fall of 2020!
